Beauty Pressure

I was doing some homework recently and researching women and the importance of appearance during the Enlightenment Era.  A women's only chance at power or influence was to be "beautiful".  I wanted to prove that this emphasis on the physical "mask" hasn't gone away. So I stumbled upon this video. Something about it got me choked up at the end. Was I sad for myself- knowing how hard my child and teenage years were when I was trying to fit the mold? Or was I sad for my future kids who will be subject to this, and who will think they aren't good enough? (because I'm sure the media will only get worse)
Maybe I'm just sad for anybody in our society, guy or girl, who gets their view skewed so disgustingly.
Just something that has been on my mind.
